Brighton Pubs Reopening

Thank you all for the kind messages of support we have received over recent days and weeks. We are grateful that both our pubs and the brewery mean so much to so many local people and it is testament to the hard work of all our staff.

After the first lockdown we put in place thorough measures to comply with the existing government guidance and to ensure that you were all safe while visiting our pubs. Based on your feedback we hopefully succeeded in not just creating a safe environment but in ensuring that the pubs still felt like pubs. Your support and adherence to the rules made this easy and for that we thank you all.

So, what happens next...

From Wednesday 2nd December pubs in Brighton and Hove can reopen in Tier 2 provided they function more as a restaurant and that all customers eat a substantial meal. Inside the pub, groups are limited to a single household (or support bubble), while outside the old ‘Rule of 6’ remains in place enabling you to socialise with friends or family from different households. We are unable to sell alcohol after 10pm and all guests must leave the premises by 11pm (subject to opening hours).

What are we going to do...

Our absolute priority (alongside continuing to adhere to all government guidance) is that visiting our pubs remains as accessible as possible, and that the current restrictions do not mean that visiting your local pub regularly becomes out of reach financially.

We are lucky that we have a great team of chefs at the Haus on the Hill and the Freehaus led by Danny O’Shea. They’ve been working hard to create new menus that will include a range of great value substantial meals (to protect your beer budget!) alongside all your ‘Taste of the Caribbean’ favourites. We firmly believe that people should not be excluded from visiting their local pub because they do not want a three-course meal, and also wish to minimise the risk of unnecessary food waste from customers being forced to order food they do not actually need or want.

We will again be offering a takeaway service for draft beer and cider, cans, bottles and also wine. In the last few weeks, we have already begun to release a new range of our own beer in cans and new packaged beers will continue to drop throughout December. In addition, for the first time ever our signature cask beer South Coast IPA is available in bottles. To help you explore and enjoy our new packaged beers and as part of the pubs reopening we will be launching our new ‘Six Pack to Go’ promotion. During your meal you can purchase a mixed six pack of Brighton Bier cans for a 20% discount, or simply buy them before you leave as takeaway. You can drink any that you choose in the pub (before finishing your meal and closing time) and then simply take the rest home.

Individual site reopening details are as follows:

BRIGHTON BIERHAUS, 161 Edward Street | www.brightonbierhaus.pub

  • The Government’s Tier 2 regulations unfortunately do not allow us to reopen the Brighton Bierhaus at this time. We will be watching closely for any changes in the restrictions and have lots of exciting things planned for the site in 2021.

As before, at all sites we politely request that customers bring their own face masks and use them when moving around the pub. We want you to feel safe and we want you to be safe.

CLICK & COLLECT | HOME DELIVERY SERVICE

If you want the pub experience at home, we’ve got you covered. As per above our Click & Collect and Home Delivery service will continue, but now be based from the Freehaus. Open from Tuesday through Sunday, you can order any one of 150 beers and ciders via Click & Collect (or takeaway) and we also provide a home delivery service for cases of our new range of cans and bottles with same day delivery in Brighton and Hove, as well as UK wide delivery.

Details of menus, opening times, how to book and our beer delivery service can be found on the pub websites.

Thank you for your continued support. Together we can ensure that pubs remain the centre of our local community for years to come, as they have been for generations.

Love Brighton Bier x
